My dam dictogloss.

A dam is a barrier that blocks the flow of water in a stream or
river.

Dams are built across streams, rivers or estuaries, to retain the
water. Water and reservoirs can be used to suport irrigation
systems.

Dams are built to retain water and block floods.

Water Care operates 14 supply reservoirs. Five of them are
located in Waitakere Ranges. Two are here in Helensville.

The dam’s supply about 80% of Auckland’s water. The dams are
built very high. The water goes right down the dam.

In the Waitakere Ranges there are five dams, there are three
concrete dams and there are two earth dams.
